Since the middle ages, none held more mystique than Isle of Lewis chess men. In the 12th century, 78 ivory chess pieces were discovered in 1831 on the Isle of Lewis in Scotland. They are now in the British Museum of London. Representing the Isle of Lewis, these remarkably intricate, etched chessmen wonderfully depict the historic chessmen on two dimensional miniatures.
Conveniently magnetic, the pieces cling nicely to the board and stay in place and each piece stores inside within foam fitted slots.
